  • Merissa Villalobos
    Merissa Villalobos, has been a Cybersecurity Recruitment professional for over 10 years and she has built a national Talent Acquisition department from the ground up, managed a global recruiting team for the largest (purely) security consulting firm in the world and now works as a dedicated ESO Recruiter for Tanium, the world's only real-time endpoint communications platform for the enterprise. Merissa started her career in the DC/MD/VA area at a Federal Government contractor, where she recruited for the intelligence community and various Federal Government agencies. When she moved back to soCal, she worked at a staffing agency, where she recruited for the Military, Government agencies and tech giants like Google. After her short stint there, she became a Talent Acquisition Leader for 2 consecutive security consulting firms and played a key role on the HR team in managing the contingent workforce, leading diversity recruitment, developing workforce plans and being a strategic recruitment partner. Merissa is on the Leadership Team for WSC (Women's Society of Cyberjutsu) for the soCal chapter, she is a Board Member for ISSA Los Angeles and helps plan career villages for local events like ShellCon and LayerOne. In 2018, she delivered a talk at ShellCon, called "Wecurity" to provide some data-based insight on diversity and the value it brings to an organization. Merissa is also a 4-time BSides Las Vegas resume reviewer for Hire Ground, has volunteered for Day of Shecurity and has also been featured in a Security Weekly interview with Paul Asadoorian, where they discussed WSC and building a more inclusive and diverse cybersecurity workforce.
  • David DePena
    Currently working as a corporate recruiter for HireRight, David is a professional recruiting consultant who has had the opportunity to work with and "place" some of the top talent in various industries throughout Southern California and surrounding states. He has been recruiting in cyber security and technology for 24 years and has held various roles as an agency Recruiter, a corporate Recruiter and Director of Recruitment for companies like the Herjavec Group, Trace3 and many others. He has also owned his own search firm and takes pride in his ability to align and complement both the candidate and client with the right opportunity, skills and cultural fit. His strength has been working with Enterprise (National and Global), Commercial and start-up clients providing, Executive Search, recruiting best practices for talent acquisition and staffing divisions.
  • Chrissy Morgan
    Chrissy Morgan is a specialist Cyber Security Recruiter with Tiro Security in Los Angeles. She is a record setting top biller with two strong years of technical recruitment experience. Chrissy has been recognized for focusing on quality relationships and using a consultative approach to coach candidates, matching them to great careers.   • Charles Nwatu
    Charles holds a B.S in Information Sciences and Technology from Pennsylvania State University, where he specialized in Information Assurance and Security. He has 13 years of experience and is currently the Engineering Manager, Corporate Information Security for Netflix. Prior to Netflix, he was a Director of Security for Stich Fix and before Stitch Fix, he was the Security Engineering Manager for Twilio, where he created and developed their security monitoring capability, operationalized the vuln management program and led a sound security IR and management program. Prior to Twilio, he grew to be an information Security Manager for Security Monitoring and Incident Response at LinkedIn after playing an instrumental role in the Federal sector with the deployment of the HBSS program for the U.S. Department of Defense. Before moving into Leadership as a Hiring Manager, Charles was a Principal Professional Services Consultant for McAfee and a Computer Scientist for DISA. Mr. Nwatu believes that diverse talent working in a diverse environment allows for great opportunities and discoveries to take place, so he is very active in the community as a member of /dev/color. He was a Co-Technical Lead for Black Girls CODE and a Fellows Program Council Co-Chair for CODE2040. He has also volunteered with the National Society of Black Engineers and is a current ally of Women's Society of Cyberjutsu.
  • Zak King
    Zak has been working in the cybersecurity field for over six years, in roles spanning between both Sales and Talent Acquisition. Today, Zak is responsible for the Talent Acquisition of Tanium's Federal TAM (Technical Account Management) organization. Helping to connect engineers with roles that support Tanium Federal partners, which includes four of the five U.S. Armed Forces, and a significant portion of the global government and intelligence agencies. Zak is passionate about helping others find career opportunities they never knew existed. He recently moved to SoCal at the beginning of 2019 and is looking forward to participating in his first ShellCon!
