Forget AI, Automation is Security’s Secret Weapon

While the hype of next-gen security technologies persists in media headlines and at industry shows, automation is the highly underrated secret weapon that security teams should learn to leverage more. In this lecture Ash Wilson, strategic engineering specialist at CloudPassage, will explain the obstacles and fears behind automating security technology, in addition to sharing how and why enterprises are using security automation to move to and thrive in cloud environments.

    With nearly two decades of technology experience, Ash Wilson came to the information security space after developing a passion for systems and network engineering and integrations. Wilson currently serves as a strategic engineering specialist at CloudPassage, where he supports enterprises in automating their security, with a particular expertise in creating API integrations that boost speed and agility. Prior to CloudPassage, Wilson worked as a solutions architect at AlienVault, where he created integration packages for the company’s SIEM technology to consume more threat intelligence from more providers to detect and stop attacks. He has presented research at DEF CON on situational information from telemetry and correlated heuristics and is also the creator of Sitch.io, an open source anomaly detection platform for GSM networks.
