Presented at
BSidesDC 2019,
Oct. 27, 2019, 9 a.m.
(180 minutes).
Our training class will cover what it takes to be a kid in security. This isn't just about computers but
about security in general. We will be teaching about logic and how it helps with many decisions in life.
We will be talking about Terminal Quest and using that to learn the basics of Linux. We will be talking
about how drones and other toys can teach us to code as well. We are going to teach how to ask
questions properly to get the answers we are looking for from adults, but at a level that we understand.
We will be taking a field trip out into the Vendor Area’s where we will put these new skills into practice.
We will learn how to "hunt" foxes - wireless foxes that is! This is going to be an interactive morning with
us, and we won't be sitting the whole time. You may bring a computer (you will only be using a
browser), but it is optional.
