RFID Implants For Fun (and Security)

Presented at CHCon '20 (2020), Oct. 31, 2020, 12:30 p.m. (Unknown duration).

RFID and NFC are decades-old technologies, and are ubiquitous in the modern world. Phones, payment terminals, and smart locks are common devices with contactless data transfer, but how do these devices actually work? Are they secure? And why are people putting RFID tags in their hands?

This talk will discuss how RFID/NFC access control and data transfer works in the real world, and how implantable tags can be used to replace badges and fobs to communicate with these devices.
