Professor at the University of Wuerzburg, researcher at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society, soon moving to Amsterdam to become a professor the Vrije Universiteit. Research on creativity and innovation. Sascha Friesike is a professor for Management and Entrepreneurship at the University of Wuerzburg. He studied industrial engineering at the TU Berlin and holds a Ph.D. from the University of St.Gallen in Innovation and Technology Management. During his Ph.D. he was conducting research at Stanford. Currently, he is also active as a researcher at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society in Berlin. In his research he focuses on the question “How do new things come to life?” In studying this he has looked at a variety of settings like communities, academia, NGOs, and private companies. In January 2017 Friesike will move to the Netherlands and become a professor at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He has published several books on creativity, research, and innovation besides a multitude of academic articles on these topics.
