Ksenia is an Internet freedom activist, researcher and drone/noise musician. Originally from Russia, she is based in France where she works at the Center for Internet and Society. She is also a research fellow at the Citizen Lab (University of Toronto) and a UX-researcher in Delta Chat messenger and CENO browser. Her interests and fields of expertise are: decentralization / fediverse; usable security; social studies of surveillance; Russian surveillance economy; history of the RuNet; Internet infrastructures and information control in at-risk areas. She is the organizer of Transcyberian cryptoparties and composes drone music under the alias ~bezvlastje.
