Julia Maria Mönig

Julia Maria Mönig is a philosopher who wrote a dissertation on the concept of the private in Hannah Arendt's political philosophy at the University of Passau (Germany). She studied French, Philosophy and Pedagogy in Wuppertal (Germany) and Paris (France). She is interested in privacy discourses, the question why we need to protect privacy, what autonomy means for a - democratic - state and in socio-technical aspects of privacy. Her other research interests include political philosophy, 20th century philosophy, feminist philosophy, exile studies and philosophy of education. Currently she is working on her postdoctoral research project ‘The luxury of leading a private life: a privilege for the lucky few?’
