This session will look at cybersecurity today and how various stakeholders are joining forces to share threat intelligence for the good of all and the Internet as a whole; and how women in cybersecurity bring diverse perspectives that offer unique solutions to the problems facing the industry.
In today's cybersecurity landscape it is imperative for top companies to leave behind their differences and come together to share intelligence and other pertinent information. By exchanging cyber threat information and collaborating on what that information means, the Cyber Threat Alliance (CTA) leverages the collective knowledge of those in the sharing community to better protect their customers, and the Internet as a whole.
Sharing of this type of information allows companies to enrich their own cyber threat information and to make it more actionable.
The CTA: how four leading cybersecurity companies - *Fortinet*, *McAfee*,* Palo Alto Networks* and *Symantec* - came together to form an alliance in 2014, recruit new members (currently at 23 members strong), and eventually establish the CTA as an independent organization, in 2016, dedicated to automating the sharing of timely, relevant, actionable, and contextualized intelligence that can be used to deploy near real-time protections for all of our customers.
An Adversary's Playbook is an organized collection of tools, techniques and procedures (TTP) they employ when launching cyberattacks. As a community it is necessary for us to develop these adversary playbooks using our collective intelligence, information and intelligence analysis, and observations of live attacks. These adversary playbooks provide a common language to record "plays" and a platform to share them.
During the panel, we will also discuss how women in the industry are working together to support and encourage each other, as well as how women are bringing new insights and perspectives into tackling some of the toughest cybersecurity issues today.

Jeannette Jarvis

Jeannette Jarvis Jeannette has worked in cybersecurity for more than 25 years. Currently, she serves as Director of Product Marketing for Fortinet, focused on FortiGuard Labs, the company's research and threat intelligence organization. Previously she served as Director of Product Management at McAfee and Intel Security. Jeannette held senior leadership roles in computer security organizations at Microsoft and Boeing. Jeannette has worked with the Cyber Threat Alliance since 2014. She is on the advisory board for Virus Bulletin, an international organization covering the global threat landscape. Jeannette co-founded the McAfee Women In Security (WISE) affinity group, and lead the Intel Women at Intel (WIN) network. Jeannette was selected by SC Magazine as one of eight IT Women to Watch in 2017.

Heather King
- Cyber Threat Alliance
Heather King Heather King works to improve the cybersecurity of our digital ecosystem by working with companies and organizations to share information and coordinate with one another. She has held senior roles for cybersecurity policy at the U.S. National Security Council (NSC) and other federal agencies, including serving as the Acting Senior Director for Cybersecurity Policy. Prior to that, Heather served on the NSC staff in several roles from April 2013 to April 2017, including Deputy Executive Secretary and Director of Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity. Before joining the NSC staff, she served in a variety of roles at the Federal and state levels. Heather holds Master's degrees in global security from Virginia Tech and in management of information technology from the University of Virginia.

Kathleen Whitbey
- Palo Alto Networks
Kathi Whitbey Kathi Whitbey currently serves as the Program Manager for Cyber Threat Intelligence Information Sharing programs within Palo Alto Networks. In this role, Kathi was an integral part in the process for incorporating the CTA, to include the CTA Platform development efforts. Kathi's previous roles have included software development management and technical training efforts for various US government agencies. Kathi has been fortunate to have travelled all over the world educating employees on custom software applications. In her free time, Kathi serves as a volunteer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and served in that role in Djibouti, Africa supporting the US Navy. Kathi has an M.S. degree in information systems.
