WCTF Magic as told by a clumsy Magician

Presented at BSidesDC 2016, Oct. 22, 2016, 10:30 a.m. (50 minutes)

I am not going to show you how to break WEP or WPA. What I will do is share with you the fun and funny stories from the perspective of a WCTF competitor. I will explain the tools, tricks, equipment and techniques I used to score a few points and make a few friends while participating in the WCTF. The WCTF organizers are an amazing group of people who put on a challenging and fun event. The flags will truly test your skills, patience, and help you learn tons of cool things. Don't come to this talk if you are looking for a step by step guide on how to win. I have to keep a few secrets to myself. Come because you are curious about the Wireless CTF, you want to learn from my many mistakes, and hear why naming the WIFI fox FOXY can lead to shenanigans.
