ICS Village

Presented at BSidesDC 2014, Oct. 17, 2014, noon (360 minutes)

At DEFCON, a group of fierce SCADA Ninjas decided to bring ICS to the DEFCON villages. Now, they bring the same fun to Security B-Sides DC!! Unless you are already operating a PLC in your basement hooked up to a water pump, a secret ACME factory production line or an uranium centrifuge, then this is your best chance to get a kick-start into the world of ICS. We are bringing real-world industrial equipment from different vendors for you to look, feel and mess around with. The ICS village contains both a full replica of a typical water plant network setup, as well as isolated industrial equipment stations to try out. You may run common security / discovery tools against those systems, program a PLC, use one of our ICS protocol fuzzers or get involved into the development of an open-source ICS honeypot.

And besides the equipment stations to tamper with, we're planning to bring a number of in-village talks. Our overall goal is to bring the topic of ICS security to a broader audience of B-Sides DC attendees. So see you around at B-SidesDC's first ICS village!
