While there is much attention paid to lockpicking, it is often more effective to breach physical security with other techniques. Some of these techniques target the same mechanism the key uses, some of them target other parts of the lock that the key does not directly interact with, and others do not target the lock at all! While some of these techniques, like shimming, are well known, others such as direct dog actuation are not so well known.
This talk will discuss a number of fast, simple techniques that quickly breach physical security without leaving obvious signs of entry. Additionally, attendees will learn how to identify when a particular entry technique will likely be effective.
