Why are all the CISOs leaving?

Presented at NolaCon 2022, May 22, 2022, 11:30 a.m. (Unknown duration).

The average tenure of a Chief Information Security Officer is 18 to 26 months. It's a common thread that I've experienced as a CISO and as a consultant - practically every client had a CISO leave or who is on the way out. I only lasted 22 months. Why? We'll explore research on the topic combined with personal experience and stories from colleagues. Why do some companies "get it" and are supportive of information security while it seems the vast majority are not? Takeaways will include what can you do to set up your security program for success, and how to retain its leadership.
