The Jazz Improv of Infosec

Presented at NolaCon 2019, May 19, 2019, 11 a.m. (Unknown duration).

Information security is steeped in computer science. However, there are creative aspects to being an infosec pro that are often overlooked. The speaker draws from his experience as a gigging musician to demonstrate how art and science can converge and allow for more impactful interactions with those whose information assets we are trying to protect. Whether the viewer is a client-facing consultant or supporting an organization from within, the goal of this presentation is to provide specific examples of how at-risk engagements have been salvaged through a mixture of creative and critical thinking.
