The mid-2018 attempted speaking visit by members the Canadian alt-right caused Twitter discussions among tens of thousands of accounts. This talk shows the unfolding patterns of influence, identifies features that caused NZers at the time to go "this is not normal", and draws some lessons on how to resist future offshore influence campaigns.
