Harvest attackers won't wait for post-quantum standards - neither should you

Presented at Disobey 2023, Feb. 18, 2023, 6 p.m. (60 minutes).

Cryptographically relevant quantum computers do not exist yet as far as we know, but your secrets do. Final NIST PQC algorithms are expected in 2024. How to protect long-term secrets from harvesting attacks while standardization is in progress in NIST and IETF. Learn how the quantum-threat can be tackled using quantum-safe Secure Shell or IPsec tunnel to embrace the quantum-safe world ahead of the curve.

Presenters:

  • Suvi Lampila - SSH Fellow, SSH Communications Security Corp
Suvi has 20+ years of experience with cryptographic solutions in various positions at SSH Communications Security, ranging from technical support and quality assurance to professional services, in Finland and Hong Kong. As a Fellow, she provides guidance to engineers across product teams in Post-Quantum Cryptography and PKI, mentors other professionals at SSH, and is actively involved in developing SSH's products for a quantum-safe future. She has worked on large enterprise and government implementations, both on cloud and on-premis environments, involving technologies such as Secure Shell, TLS, PKI, and encrypted network traffic auditing. Her current focus is guiding organisations on their quantum-safe journey to migrate their security infrastructures from traditional cryptography to PQC.LinkedIn: suvi-lampila
