What's a different way to talk about security? This talk is inspired by Adam Wick's https://www.thestrangeloop.com/2016/diocletian-constantine-bedouin-sayings-and-network-defense.html which remains one of the best talks I have ever seen, the Tao Te Ching as translated by Ursula K. Le Guin, and a conversation I had recently about how security work is perceived. Security is more than cape and crimefighter analogies- there is a different way to talk about making communities more safe, and that's what I want to explore here.
