The Netsniff-NG Toolkit

The Netsniff-NG toolkit is a suite of high performance networking tools. Its two major players are netsniff-ng and trafgen which both utilize PF_PACKET’s zero-copy RX and TX RING’s. Netsniff-NG, in its totality, finds use in areas such as network development and analysis, debugging, auditing, and network reconnaissance.

  • Jon Schipp
    Jon Schipp is a Unix System Administrator and Network Security Specialist for a small business in Southern Indiana. He founded the Dubois County Linux User Group and the Southern Indiana Computer Klub. He has a growing interest in FOSS, scripting, packet capture, network forensics, and intrusion detection. He has given presentations for AIDE 2012 (Marshall University), Vincennes University, ConciseCourses, Hack3rcon 2, and Hack3rcon 3. Recently, he became involved with the Netsniff-NG project.
