Presented at 33C3 (2016), Dec. 27, 2016, 5:30 p.m. (30 minutes)

This talk presents the results of the technical analysis for the German Parliamentary Committee investigating the NSA spying scandal on geolocation methods in mobile networks. Which data are required to localize a mobile device? Which methods can be applied to accurately assess the geolocation? How can a single drone with a flight altitude of a few kilometers determine the position of a mobile device? Which role have mobile network operators in geolocation? In my talk I will provide solid answers to these and related questions.
