Whoops, I Accidentally Helped Start the Offensive Intel Branch of a Foreign Intel Service

When I left the service and the NSA, I was offered a job that seemed WAY too good to be true. Turns out it was. This talk will discuss how I came to work on the UAE's Project Raven, what signs I missed because I was being naive, and how other transitioning intelligence personnel can avoid making the same mistake.<br><br>Project Raven is discussed in episode 47 on Darknet Diaries, has been reported about extensively by Chris Bing at Reuters and Nicole Perloth in her book "<span>This Is How They Tell Me the World Ends</span>".

    David Evenden is the founder of StandardUser Cyber Security, an educational security firm dedicated to bringing work to freelance hackers and bringing top-tier industry standard information security certification training to the university classroom. David is an experienced offensive security operator with experience working in the US Intelligence Community (IC). He learned Persian Farsi, worked at NSA Red Team and was a member of an elite international team operating in conjunction with coalition forces to aid in the ongoing efforts in the Middle East. He is currently focused on working with DHS to aid in the efforts to enhance the bidirectional sharing relationship between the US Government and Commercial entities and to track foreign intelligence activity in US Based Commercial Critical Infrastructure.
