Presented at BalCCon2k22 - Loading (2022), Sept. 24, 2022, 3:40 p.m. (30 minutes).

A lot of attention is drawn to security of our software, but it is also equally important to ensure hardware is secured to avoid problems. Integration between IT world and world of devices which were previously used in isolation opened a door for many new problems and issues, which goes far beyond just having a nasty malware you need to clean from the network. Medical devices, critical infrastructure, transportation, devices we are using every day now commonly utilize smart controllers which interface with the world via internet. What can go wrong?

World of connected devices is dangerous place. Are we on the way to make Terminator not fiction movie, but documentary? Are we safe in our smart homes? And who is in control? We'll try to answer these and many other questions based on a few real world examples.
